Caspar Rock: Monday markets - the week ahead on 10 June
This week markets will digest US inflation data, while in the UK we’ll see GDP figures – and the final candidate list for the Conservative Party leadership

- Last week was the strongest week in global equity markets since November, primarily because of the more soothing language used by the Federal Reserve
- In the UK, this week’s GDP numbers are expected to be a little weaker, given the stockpiling that was taking place in the first quarter – ahead of the missed March Brexit “deadline”
- Also in the UK we will see the final candidate list for leadership of the Conservative Party, and the first round of voting on Thursday
