We're delighted to announce that Kate Rogers, Head of Policy, Charities was winner of the Change Excellence Award at the Investment Week - Women in Investment Awards 2018. Schroders went on to receive Highly Commended in the Contribution to Diversity category.
Investment Week held their second annual Women in Investment Awards on 28 November in London. The awards not only honour the inspiring achievements of women across all parts of the investment industry, they also help shape the discussion around how we can improve diversity within the sector by highlighting some of the most forward-thinking initiatives in this area.
The Change Excellence Award, celebrates women in the UK investment sector who have made a valuable business contribution by driving through change.
The judges said of Kate's win,
"We were very impressed that Kate had brought about a tangible change after successfully lobbying the Treasury to create a new investment fund structure specifically for charities. We appreciated her hard work organising discussions with key stakeholders over several years to finalise the structure, alongside her actual job."
Inside Schroders asked Kate what it meant to her to win the award;
"I was thrilled to be in the company of so many inspiring women in investment. Winning the change excellence award is particularly brilliant at a time when the investment industry is going through such change, bringing with it fantastic opportunities for responsive organisations that can benefit from true diversity of thought. Also nice to be able to wear my girl power t-shirt #thisgirlcan."
Schroders got recognition by receiving highly recommended in the Contribution to Diversity Award, which focuses on individuals and/or companies in the investment sector who have implemented a project, initiative or wider changes in diversity, excluding gender.
“A huge congratulations to Kate for winning the Change Excellence Award at the Women in Investment Awards. Change isn’t easy and it’s only made possible when employees raise their hand and help make it happen – Kate has certainly done that! It’s also an honour for Schroders to be highly commended for our work in the wider diversity and inclusion space. We still have more work to do, but this award and high commendation is a testament to the fact that we are definitely on the right track.” Rafael Campos Valdez, HR D&I Business Partner
