Alex spent decades at the heart of the UK’s national security and intelligence community, operating at the very highest levels of government including roles at GCHQ and serving in the Cabinet Office, where he directed the Joint Intelligence Organisation. His career has taken him to some of the world’s most complex and sensitive environments, with overseas postings including South Africa, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and Mexico. A recognised Middle East specialist and Arabic speaker, Alex has led teams across the region, working at the intersection of geopolitics, security, diplomacy and decision making under pressure.
