The final quarter of 2019 was in stark contrast to the same period in 2018 as global equities ended 2019 at all-time highs. Against this backdrop, the Responsible Multi-Asset Fund returned +15.9% for the year as a whole, ahead of the inflation +4% long-term target.

Having launched the fund with just £5m of assets from two clients in August 2018, the fund is now over £70m in size and is managed on behalf of 41 charity clients.

While the fund has maintained its exposure to equities, allocations to gold, bonds and cash have been helpful for relative returns in the market volatility we have seen so far in 2020. We continue to see steady flows into the Fund and have been proactively adding to equities at lower levels.

In keeping with our intention to maximise the positive impact of your charitable assets we have recently added an allocation to green bonds via the Lombard Odier Climate Change Fund, and have also recently invested in the Threadneedle Social Bond Fund.
