The Tortoise Takeover

Jersey’s 2023 public art trail protects some of the planet’s most vulnerable species.

We’re proud to support Jersey’s island-wide public art trail, bringing together the local community and protecting some of the most threatened species on the planet.

Cazenove Capital has sponsored a large and small “tortoise”, with the smaller one being designed by Bel Royal School students. It will feature all over the community, in schools, charities and community groups along the trail.

The Tortoise Takeover is run by Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, an international charity, headquartered at Jersey Zoo in the Channel Islands, working to save species from extinction.

Established by author and conservationist Gerald Durrell in 1959, Durrell’s aim is for more diverse, beautiful and resilient natural landscapes in which species can thrive and people can enjoy a deeper connection with nature.

Durrell pursues its mission by investing in four operational pillars that together strive for our vision of a wilder, healthier, more colourful world.
