Director of Public Policy and Volunteering, NCVO
Karl leads NCVO's policy, research, media and public affairs, and international relations teams. He has lead responsibility for two of NCVO's strategic aims: championing the voluntary sector, and connecting people and organisations. Karl speaks and writes widely on the big issues facing the voluntary sector, such as transparency and accountability, funding and finance, and the relationship between digital technology and social action. He is an active contributor to NCVO's foresight programme which aims to identify up-and-coming issues that will shape the voluntary sector.
He is also a non-executive director of Charity Bank, a trustee of US voluntary organisation Creating the Future, a trustee of St Albans Centre for Voluntary Service, and an Honorary Visiting Fellow at Cass Business School's Centre for Charity Effectiveness.
