Charity Commission opens charity whistleblowers advice line
Callers to this advice line will receive confidential advice to help them decide what to do about raising a serious concern about their charity, including whether and how to raise their concerns with the Commission.

Government establishes Impact Investing Institute
The Impact Investing Institute will look for more effective ways to combine financial returns with a social purpose to help improve people’s lives.
The body will encourage ordinary savers to choose ISAs, pensions and savings products that benefit the issues they care about. These could include investments in organisations that provide housing to homeless people, renewable energy companies or businesses committed to delivering sustainable employment. Read more here.
New code of fundraising practice
The Fundraising Regulator has published its new code of fundraising practice which sets out the responsibilities that apply to fundraising carried out by charitable institutions and third-party fundraisers in the UK, as detailed here.
