London, 22 June 2022

It was three years in the making but earlier this month we were delighted to host The Cazenove Capital Fancy Dress Office Chair Grand Prix to raise money for CASCAID’s nominated charity, the NSPCC.

Cazenove Capital’s Chief Investment Officer Caspar Rock led the charge. He brought together eight teams from Cazenove Capital alongside teams from MIP, Liontrust, Schroders, Findlay Park, BlackRock, Troy, Invesco, Atlas, Polar, Jupiter, BlueBay, Janus Henderson, Investec, Ninety One and PGIM. The challenge was to complete as many laps within the time, as the teams went head to head against the clock to win the prize of the fastest office chair team. Places on the starting grid were awarded to the chairs that raised the most money! The race had the added challenge of thunder and rain on the day coupled with the need to navigate a complicated race track with many hairpin bends.

Dressed as Super Mario, Cazenove Capital’s Chief Investment Officer Caspar Rock marshalled the event

Many thanks must go to the City of London School for Girls for the loan of their netball courts that we used for the race track.

Many congratulations to the teams from Ninety One and one of the Cazenove Capital teams who both managed to complete 44 laps. It was originally intended to run for an hour but due to racer fatigue, and the fact that the wheels were coming off (literally!) the chequered flag was waved after 40 minutes.

Caspar Rock, Chief Investment Officer, Cazenove Capital commented:

We wanted to have some fun but also raise money to support the important work undertaken at the NSPCC. I was delighted with the take-up within the industry and its incredible generosity to the CASCAID Campaign for their chosen charity, the NSPCC. Expectations were intentionally set low for the first year of this race, but given how much fun everyone had, we will certainly look to make this an annual event and I look forward to welcoming more people to get involved next year.
