Cazenove Capital, one of the UK’s leading wealth management businesses and part of the Schroders Group, today announces the opening of a new office at 2 St Peter’s Square, Manchester to service its growing client base in the North West.

This forms part of a strategy to build on-the-ground presence in the major UK regional hubs, thereby allowing more clients to access Cazenove Capital’s full range of services with local, tailored relationship management.

The North West team is led by Simon Pearson, previously Head of the North West for UBS who has 30 years industry experience. Simon has since been joined by six highly talented professionals in Manchester, complementing Cazenove Capital’s existing presence in Chester.

The team will service clients across the North West, including in Manchester, Chester and Liverpool and have over 100 years of combined experience of working with high and ultra high net worth clients in the region.

The new office is well placed to capitalise on growing entrepreneurialism in the North of England, where many new and established business owners are expanding their businesses in sectors including fashion, manufacturing and technology. Recent regional PMI data highlighted that North West business activity is rising at its fastest rate since 2017.

40% of Cazenove Capital clients have generated their wealth through business interests. Supporting local family businesses and entrepreneurs with tailored advice on matters such as exit planning and the intergenerational transfer of wealth will be a core focus for the team.

Cazenove Capital offers a full range of wealth management services including financial planning, lending and portfolio management.

Simon Pearson, Head of Manchester Office and Portfolio Director, said: “Established family businesses in the North West continue to adapt to drive long-term growth and the region is increasingly home to innovative start-ups. The Government’s levelling up agenda will only boost this momentum, providing a supportive context for local business owners. Our team is dedicated to delivering personalised wealth management services for business owners and all client groups in the region.”

Karan Sejpal, Team Head responsible for Business’ Owners and Entrepreneurs, and the UK Regions said: “The establishment of the Manchester office is just one example of Cazenove Capital’s commitment to grow across the UK. Our presence in Manchester will allow us to harness the regional client demand we are seeing from business owners who require experienced investment and financial planning advice from professionals who understand the demands of running, sustaining and in many cases exiting a business. Cazenove Capital, through its global expertise, local understanding and Schroders’ heritage as a business still largely owned by the family who founded it two centuries ago, is uniquely placed to serve this group.”

Mary-Anne Daly, Chief Executive at Cazenove Capital, said: “This is an important step to deliver on our ambition to bring personalised, meaningful wealth management services to client groups across the UK. This office opening is a testament to the work of the North West team in driving Cazenove Capital’s proposition in  the region, and to the strong relationships the team holds with clients – established and new.”

Cazenove Capital is committed to supporting local talent, with the new Manchester office including:

  • Artwork from local artist: Alana Pike, Manchester School of Art. Alana was selected by the team in Manchester – her artwork depicts an imaginative glimpse of unique architectural details, encapsulating the local flavour, historical aspects and modern characteristics of Manchester.
  • Sustainability: In line with Cazenove Capital’s commitment to sustainability both as a business and through clients’ investments, all print paperwork at the new office is recycled, coffee grains are recycled, paperless meetings are encouraged and a cycle-to-work scheme has been put in place.
  • Flexible / hybrid working for employees: Employees in the Manchester office will have flexible working arrangements available to them, with face-to-face client relationships remaining a priority.

Schroders’ Real Estate division, led by Sophie van Oosterom, Global Head of Real Estate, has also moved into the new office.
