Charity Trustee Investment Training: Part One
We were delighted to host the first part of our Trustee Training program on 20 June.
The programme aims to give trustees the confidence to invest their charity’s assets to best support their financial, sustainable and charitable objectives. The two-part course is designed to provide an overview of best practice in charity investment; covering charity law, investment policy, introducing available investment asset classes and focusing on sustainability.
Sessions are open to all trustees and importantly, provide an opportunity to quiz presenters, cross-examine investment specialists and raise any concerns that they may have as a trustee in a supportive environment, while for those attending in person meeting with other trustees who may have similar investment experience.
Part One was open to those with limited investment knowledge and covered:
- Equities: an introduction
- Bonds: an introduction
- Alternatives: an introduction
- The role of a Charity Trustee
- Investment policy & current talking points
Part Two of our Trustee Training series was on 21 September, where we focused more on sustainability and discussed whether there are Brighter Days Ahead for investment returns. Watch the recording here.
