Sustainable investment

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations are integrated into our investment decisions to both find opportunities and avoid risks. But we can go much further, tailoring portfolios that align with your values and invest for impact.

The world is changing at pace. Climate change, shifting demographics and technology are reshaping our planet and society. These shifts cannot be ignored.

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) integration is central to our investment process. We believe those companies that can adapt and thrive in a climate of rapid social and environmental change will be more successful long-term. Careful consideration of material ESG issues helps to inform our investment decisions to identify opportunities and minimise risks.

We work with a team of specialists and proprietary tools from Schroders Group to help us appraise the companies that we invest in. Our sustainability team has over 20 years of experience integrating ESG into our everyday investment management process.

Delivering profit with purpose

Many clients choose to go further, and invest in ways that actively look to solve the world’s biggest challenges, whilst positively influencing both people and planet.

For these clients, we manage our sustainable investment portfolios. We work to understand your values and how to best reflect them in your investment strategy. You have a direct say on how your wealth can work - aligning your portfolio with your values, without sacrificing financial returns.

Our sustainable investment strategies avoid harmful and controversial industries, whilst drive progress towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

Measuring impact

Investors increasingly want to quantify the impact their holdings have on society and the environment.

Our adopted Impact Management Framework enables us to choose investments that aim to create positivise change, by setting our intention and taking actions, to deliver impact. As part of this framework, we have our award winning* impact measurement tool, SustainEx. This allows us to quantify the costs that companies would face if their negative or positive impacts on the world around them were priced.

We measure the impact of your investments on people and the planet. We can quantify the carbon footprint of your portfolio, for example, and help you reduce it. We can also put a monetary value on the social benefits – and costs – that your portfolio generates.
