Mary-Anne Daly, Head of Private Wealth Management

Mary-Anne Daly joined Cazenove Capital in 2001 and is a Director of the firm. She is Head of the Private Client Business with assets representing close to 50% of overall funds under management. Mary-Anne joined from Baring Asset Management where she had been Head of Client Service and Business Development for private clients during the last four years, and prior to this role, Managing Director of their Paris office for three years. Prior to joining BAM, Mary-Anne spent seven years in the M&A Division of Baring Brothers and previously worked for Chase Manhattan Bank in London. Mary-Anne holds a degree in Economics from London University. She has 27 years of investment and banking experience.
Jeremy Hervey, Head of Charities

joined Cazenove Capital in 2002. He is Head of Charities with responsibility for managing UK charity and private client portfolios. Jeremy is Vice Chair of the Private Client Investment Committee. He joined from HSBC Investment Management after 9 years. He graduated from University College London with a 1st class degree in Economics and Philosophy. He is a director of Cazenove Capital and has 18 years of investment experience.
David Austin, Head of Financial Planning

David Austin joined Cazenove in 2000 to help establish a wealth management division within the firm, he is head of the Financial Planning team and is a Director of the firm. Prior to joining Cazenove, David worked for ESSO BP, Pricewaterhouse and Equitable Life in various tax and advisory roles. David deals with many of the firm’s highest profile clients. His professional qualifications include ATT and FPC. He has 26 years of experience in this field and is registered with the FSA.

Sandy joined Cazenove Capital in January 2010 following the acquisition of Thornhill Investment Management. A chartered accountant, Sandy joined Martin Currie in 1994 with responsibility for its UK mutual funds and subsequently became managing director of Thornhill in 2003. His directorships have included Dunedin Enterprise Investment Trust plc (1998 – 2006) and Man Alternative Investments Ltd (2001 – 2004).

Key fund managers and strategists
Chris Rice
Chris joined Cazenove in 2002. As Head of European equities, he is responsible for all aspects of European equity strategy, portfolio construction and performance. He is manager of the Cazenove European Fund (onshore) and the Cazenove European Equity (ex UK) Fund (offshore) and co-manager of the Cazenove European Equity Absolute Return Fund. He is responsible for sector research in Banks & Specialty Finance (including Property), Oil & Gas, Media, General Retailers, Personal Care/Luxury Goods and Support Services. Chris joined from HSBC Asset Management where he held a similar position, responsible for their retail and institutional Pan-European and European equity funds. Prior to HSBC, he was a Japanese and European fund manager at Scottish Amicable Investment Managers. Chris graduated from the University of Salford with First Class Honours in Finance and Accounting as well as a MPhil in Monetary Economics from the University of Glasgow and he is IIMR qualified. He has 19 years of investment experience.
Peter Harvey
Peter joined Cazenove Capital in 2005. He is Head of Credit with specific responsibility for credit strategy and managing the Cazenove Strategic Bond Fund and Cazenove Strategic Debt Fund. Peter joined from F&C Management Ltd where he had been Head of UK Credit. Over the five years to December 2004, Peter was ranked in the top decile of Standard & Poor’s UK Corporate Bond league table. During his eleven years at F&C, Peter also ran funds covering emerging market corporate bonds, high yield and distressed debt. Before joining F&C, Peter spent three years with Lloyds Bank Capital Markets Group. He graduated with a 2.1 degree from the University of St Andrews and speaks Spanish fluently. Peter has 19 years of experience analysing and investing in corporate debt.
Marcus Brookes
Marcus joined Cazenove Capital in January 2008. He is Head of Multi-Manager and Co-Manager of Cazenove's Multi-Manager range of funds. Prior to joining Cazenove, Marcus was a Fund Manager at Gartmore Investment Management responsible for the Gartmore Multi-Manager range of funds. Prior to joining Gartmore, Marcus held a similar position at Insight Investment, following its acquisition of Rothschild Asset Management in 2003. Marcus has 16 years investment experience and graduated from the University of Stirling with MSc. Investment Analysis.
Richard Jeffrey, Chief Investment Officer
Richard is CIO of Cazenove Capital and is responsible for the strategic framework that supports the investment teams. Richard joined from Ingenious Securities, where he was a Director and Head of Securities. Between May 2002 and 2006, Richard was a director and Head of Research at Bridgewell Securities. From 1992 to 2002, he worked for Charterhouse Securities as Head of Research and for Charterhouse Group as Chief Economist. Prior to this, between 1981 and 1992, he was employed by Hoare Govett Ltd., ultimately heading up the economics and strategy team. As well as working as a professional economist, Richard sits on the Council of the Centre for Policy Studies; he is also on the Committee of the Regulatory Evaluation Group, established under the auspices of the Adam Smith Institute. Richard Jeffrey is a City Fellow of Hughes Hall, Cambridge. He is a frequent broadcaster on radio and television and has written for various newspapers and magazines. Richard has 29 years of investment experience.
Robin Griffiths, Technical Strategist
Robin joined Cazenove Capital in 2008 as Technical Strategist providing strategic input and marketing support, primarily to Private Wealth Management. For over 30 years Robin Griffiths has been one of the most respected technical analysts of world stock markets, bonds, currencies and commodities. He became a technical analyst with WI Carr, based first in Hong Kong and then Tokyo before returning to London. During this time he started to develop his own trading system, analysing stock and market trends. He was then chief technical strategist with HSBC for over 20 years. His most recent position was as Head of Asset Allocation with Rathbones. Robin has 41 years investment experience.
